The Choral Arts Collective

Star in the East

Enjoy the sounds of the season at Bel Canto Company’s 34th Annual Holiday concert, with special guests, the Greensboro Youth Chorus and Quintessentials.

Depending on our backgrounds, the holidays may be filled with the sounds of many different musical styles.  The shape-note melody of Shawn Kirchner’s Brightest and Best with its joyous fiddle accompaniment may come to mind for those who grew up in or near the Appalachians. For others, the American Southwest origins of Conrad Susa’s Carols and Lullabies may be just the thing. For others, some of the classic standards of of the mid-20th century (think White Christmas) are the soundtrack to our December. Whatever musical style says “holiday spirit” to you, you’re likely to hear at least one representative in a festive concert featuring Bel Canto Company, the Greensboro Youth Chorus, and the Quintessentials, accompanied by brass quintet, organ, percussion and fiddle.
